Dr. Don Nadrchal

Veterinarian, Owner

Dr. Don Nadrchal graduated from ISU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. His first and only job as a veterinarian was at Animal Health Center which first began in Lytton and expanded into Sac City. As a mixed animal veterinarian, he has helped both farm animals and companion animals throughout his career. Dr. Don lives on an acreage outside of Sac City with his wife Julie. Don and Julie have two adult sons, David (wife Katie) and Daniel (wife Judy), a granddaughter, Elena, and a grandson, Calvin. In his free time Dr. Don enjoys hiking, camping, scuba diving, and working on projects in his workshop. His favorite part of being a veterinarian is being able to make our client's lives better by helping their pets.

Dr. Amberly Van Hulzen

Veterinarian

Dr. Amberly graduated from ISU College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023 and has been with Animal Health Center since. Dr. Amberly works with both large and small animals, and especially enjoys surgeries and pregnancy checking cattle. She lives outside of Sac City with her husband Andrew, son Izaiah, dog Jim Croce, and many farm cats. In her free time she enjoys going on walks with her family (and fur family), gardening, and home improvement projects. Her favorite part of being a veterinarian is forming lasting relationships with clients and seeing a once sick pet go home to their family happy and healthy.

Emily joined our practice in April 2024. Emily grew up in Sac City with 5 brothers and at least two pets at any given time. She now lives with her husband, Drew, and a 12 year old German Shorthair Pointer, Mila, still in Sac City. In her freetime she enjoys camping, kayaking, and cooking outdoors. Her favorite part of her job is learning something new everyday!

Shelby Lynch

Veterinary Assistant

Shelby is from Newell, IA and joined our practice in March 2024. She has a long history of involvement in 4H and FFA showing many species. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her horses, chickens and dogs. Her favorite part of her job at Animal Health Center is going out on large animal calls.
